Will the new acquisitions of Sun and Oracle affect Vignette Products?

After the acquisition of mySql by Sun Microsystems and Bea by Oracle, I think this could change the strategy Vignette will take in the long term.

The first acquisition will provide access of MySql to larger corporations, like Vignette. So, Is it possible Vignette could change it's default database from Oracle to mySql? Could this reduce the final price of the platform?.

About the second acquisition, Vignette Content Management brings a Weblogic application server with the product, licensed to run this web application exclusively. Perhaps the new proprietary could review the contract or agreement taken between Vignette and BEA. Because of this, could the new VCM versions run inside other Application Server?

Any comments?

Content is not what used to be...

I've red somewhere that with web 2.0 advent content (news, articles etc ) is not meant to die anymore (i.e. to expire or to archive). What the owner could consider disposable stuff, another one could see as a perfect complement to his website (mashups in scene). MySQL, once known as a read-only DB, fit perfectly in that strategy. Why spend $$$ with expensive DBs when all that you need is to delivery in the quick *and* inexpensive way as possible? MySQL make sense for Vgn Web 2.0 websites!
